What began as a lifelong love for the outdoors grew into PeckPhotographyArt LLC, a Kihei-based photography business built from wonder, patience, and deep appreciation for Maui’s landscapes and wildlife. Theron’s work reflects the quiet magic of island living: the brilliance of a flaming sunset, the grace of honu gliding through turquoise water, the stillness of Haleakalā mornings, and the delight of Maui’s quirks (yes — even chicken sneakers made the collection).

His artistry goes far beyond traditional prints. Every piece carries a story — a moment Theron felt moved to preserve. “Photography has always been more therapy than work for me,” he says. “My goal is simply to capture the beauty that surrounds all of us. On Maui, that beauty is endless.”

Theron’s journey to photography full-time wasn’t simple. After years of vacationing on Maui, he and his wife made the leap and moved to the island in 2022. He left his mainland career behind, choosing instead to dedicate himself to the passion that had filled his days with joy since childhood. Compliments from friends and strangers — along with the profound emotional impact his images had on others — encouraged him to share his work more widely.

Today, his photography is available online and in person, offering people near and far a way to bring a piece of Maui into their homes. Whether it’s the fiery glow of a Lahaina sunset or the peaceful expression of a sea turtle surfacing for air, Theron captures scenes that make viewers pause, breathe, and reconnect with nature.
